See how fast we build

Inspired by a fresh, airy palette of white-washed linens, natural textures, ocean-inspired tones and timber finishes; the Hamptons style works beautifully in Australian homes. It’s a look that is made up of many elements coming together to create an interior decorating style that is crisp yet relaxed, coastal yet classic.

This relaxed coastal style is easily replicable in your Monster home. Here are some of our essential tips to inspire your build —

Natural textures

The fundamental element to a Hamptons style build is white, more white, timber floors and a hint of coastal blues — check out our Seaside colour range for a starting point. Warm-up these plain white walls and build on this colour palette with touches of colour and texture where it matters most — wicker furniture, jute rugs, and carefully curated homewares in signature colours such as soft green, teal, whites and creams. The trick is in the layering using natural textures such as linens, jute, and rattan.

Wainscoting

Nothings says east-coast style like timber mouldings along hallways and staircases. Introducing detailed trims — architraves, cornices’ and skirtings can bring that extra element to inject a casual, coastal vibe.

Lighting matters

It’s all about the spacious, well-lit rooms in the Hamptons! While natural sunlight from large windows is always the best accent to a Hamptons room, a lovely pendant light is just as stylish.

Shaker-style cabinetry

Another essential styling ingredient is Shaker cabinetry, often selected in white to draw out the kitchen’s natural light — it’s the perfect way to tie in the wainscoting in your hallways with your kitchen. This style of cabinetry, trendy in Hamptons kitchens because of its solid, traditional lines and detailing.

Elegant exterior

Weatherboard is the secret to completing the look of your Hamptons-inspired home; it combines the style’s two striking features: texture and colour. Use calming neutrals such as linen, cream, white, blue and grey, which are colours that remind us of yes, the beach — all the elements of the coast such as the sea, sand and the shells. But when using this colour scheme, keep in mind to use contrasting colours for your roofing and corner trims.

Greenery

Landscaping is an excellent addition to any home’s façade, and it will work with your Hamptons style home. A manicured lawn, tidy hedges, and planter boxes filled with lush hydrangeas are the key features. Instead of using native Australian hardy plants, go for blooms such as wisteria, star jasmine, or magnolias, to soften the appearance of your home.
